Love is Dead So Listen to Don’t Die Instead

These six tracks of manic, soaring pop are the perfect antidote to every branded post about frozen dinners you might see over the next 24 hours.

Ah yes, Valentine's Day. The day where the iconic duo of love and aggressive marketing assert themselves over all your social media platforms until you want to dig your eyes out of their sockets and eat them. Instead of that, though, tempting as it may be, perhaps you'd like to listen to some Good Ass Music instead.

Don't Die have been pottering about playing shows with Molar and Bruising and lots of other bummer pop bands since last summer, but today they're putting out their first release which we're premiering below. Recorded with Keroleen's Jake Popyura, Big Magic Eyes is six tracks of manic, soaring pop that has a sort of grunge meets college radio meets Orchid Tapes roster vibe. Ruminating on death and adoration with some tongue-in-cheek goth references sprinkled throughout (imagine the Grim Reaper as #SaltBae) it's basically the perfect antidote to every branded post about frozen dinners you might witness over the next 24 hours.

Give it a listen right here.

Big Magic Eyes is out digitally via Bandcamp now. Buy a long sleeve and get it for free if you like your mp3s to come with a side of sick garms which, honestly, who does not.
