Atlanta Braves OF Hector Olivera Arrested Following Alleged Domestic Dispute

Olivera was at the scene and taken into custody.

Braves left fielder Hector Olivera was arrested early this morning following a domestic dispute with an unnamed woman in his Ritz Carlton hotel room in Arlington, Virginia. Olivera and the Braves have been in town playing the Nationals since Monday, and at 6:51 Tuesday morning, a woman called 911 from the hotel reporting she had been assaulted.

Police say the victim had bruises and was transported to Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington. Olivera was at the hotel and taken into police custody.

According to police, Olivera and the victim know each other, but the nature of the relationship is not known at this time. Though the Braves have not commented on the matter yet, Major League Baseball has been made aware of the situation and has placed Olivera on administrative leave pending a full investigation.

Olivera has not yet been formally charged and is waiting to appear before an Arlington County judge.
