Cleveland Cavaliers Spent Summer Reliving how Warriors Blew a 3-1 Lead

Why wouldn't you relive such an historic moment?

The Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in a thrilling NBA Finals—or Cleveland came back to win the series, depending on your perspective and willingness to indulge memes—and the Cavs have been reliving it all summer. ESPN's Brian Windhorst caught up with several players and they chatted about how they've watched Game 7 over and over again.

Kyrie Irving talked about his shot in the final minute over Steph Curry, telling Windhorst how he still gets chills when he watches it:

"I was rewatching the games and talking to my teammates about it, sending them snapchats of me watching," Irving said. "I got chills. My stomach was dropping knowing the ball is going in but knowing exactly, emotionally how I felt at the time. It still gets me excited thinking about it. It's such a huge moment for not only Cleveland but our team, our families, our friends."

It was the City's first championship in 52 years, so Irving is right about it being a huge moment, and also, this is great villainous trolling.

LeBron James and Iman Shumpert were a bit more reserved in their reminiscing, though James did say he "watched it a few times."

"It was on NBA TV throughout the summer. I watch it from a fan's perspective. I see what we could've done better, but I also watch it for enjoyment, to see those three zeros on the clock."

Shumpert added, matter-of-factly, "oh, it was enjoyable."

The Cavs may get some heat for this, and you can bet this set antennae haywire in Oakland, but what's the use in winning the whole damn thing if you're not going to enjoy it? J.R. Smith surely understands this. If I was Kyrie Irving, I'd have Mike Breen's call of that shot as my ringtone all summer. Were I LeBron, I'd fall asleep to the final call every night, with the sound of the water lapping up against my enormous yacht as white noise. These are the spoils of victory and you've got to take advantage of them when you get them. The Warriors surely understand that.
