Who Wants to Look at a Dodgers Pitcher's Gross Broken Arm?

You're going to look. You know you will.

What I'm going to do first is explain to you that Josh Ravin is a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers who spent nearly ten years in the minor leagues before making his major league debut last season. Ravin is 28 years old and pitched 9 1/3 innings for his hometown team in 2015. He already had a rocky start to spring, getting sidelined with the flu and strep throat, and then he got into a car accident on Monday night. He was alone in the car and suffered a broken radial bone in his left arm. He's a right-handed pitcher, so it's not as bad as it could be, but he's obviously going to miss some time with surgery and rehab. The team has not released an expected return time, however.

He's also pretty upbeat about the whole thing.

Thank you all for the well wishes!
It's definitely a tough break… ; )

And right now, what I'd like to do is show you this picture of a very happy dog.

And, now, I'd like to admit to you that I've written these words and embedded that tweet, and this happy dog picture, for the sole purpose of burying the picture of Josh Ravin's mangled arm as far down the page as possible, so none of you reading would spontaneously throw up once you clicked on the link to get here. And hopefully you scroll back up and look at the dog and forget this ever happened.

OK. Still with me?

In that case, here it is:
