Here's the Dark, Twisted Video for Colter Wall's "Kate McCannon"

The country singer's self-titled debut is introspective and great.

Back in May, we streamed Colter Wall's slow-burning, introspective self-titled debut. The grizzly album feels like a classic country record—filled with old time storytelling from Wall's single voice above sparse instrumentation. The songs, like "Codeine Dream" and "Thirteen Silver Dollars," are heartbreaking tales of struggle and abuse, and the 22-year-old Canadian delivers the lines with the cadence of someone who's been smoking a pack a day for at least three lifetimes.

Today, we're premiering the video for the single "Kate McCannon," a song that deals with themes of infidelity and anger. For the visual, directors Alexa King and Stephen Kinigopoulos reached out to Wall directly on social media to make it, and when he approved, they shot an interpretation of the song in their neighborhood with friends and family. "The great thing about it was apart from the writing of the song, I had very little to do with the whole thing," Wall told Noisey. "It's an interpretation that belongs entirely to Alexa and Stephen and their team and I think it's wonderful. That's one of the great things about stories, everyone has their own unique interpretations and visions."
