After releasing singles "Skin" and "Three Futures," Nashville guitar-slinger Torres has unveiled yet another new song from her album Three Futures, which is out September 29. "Helen in the Woods" is considerably darker than the previous tracks in terms of subject, mood, and even visual accompaniment.Mackenzie Scott is presented in unnerving lighting, which only amplifies her demented vocal performance and the song's unrelenting chug. The tired comparison would be to To Bring You My Love-era PJ Harvey, but this kind of grimness doesn't feel like badass boasting so much as it feels like a carefully harnessed panic attack.
