The III, pronounced "the third," describe themselves as an acoustic-trap trio. They met while going to college in Toronto, and honed their skills at open mic events across the city. Comprised of Kevin Colquhoun, Joël Lobban, and Patrick Sauvé, the trio got their trap influence when Joe Impala and Ty Senoj were introduced to the mix. Now the guitar strings are paired with thumping drums, helping give the record potential life in both coffee shops, as well as dimly lit clubs. Fortunately the production never sinks the vocal work, which manages to rise like a kite in a storm.
