While little might be known about Toronto-based band, Traitrs (Sean-Patrick Nolan and Shawn Tucker) it seems their rise to success is guaranteed with the promising horror-tinged debut single "Witch Trials." Made in collaboration with producer Josh Korody, whose worked with Dilly Dally and Fucked Up, the track is a stripped down affair with walking bass lines and well worn guitars riffs. All whilst indulging its gloomy instrumental disposition with occult references and asks to "cut and kill the young." The single also comes off their upcoming debut EP Rites & Rituals.

"We always had an idea of how we wanted Traitrs to sound and 'Witch Trials' was the first song we wrote that met our expectations for the whole project and really set the standard for Rites and Rituals," explains Sean-Patrick Nolan. "We recorded it at Candle with Josh [Korody] and the whole thing has been one of the best experiences we’ve had. The vibe at the studio is amazing and Josh [Korody] truly is one of the best producers in the city. He's able to pick up on nuances and textures before we hear them and he knows exactly what a track calls for, it could be the tiniest thing but it makes a world of difference to a song and brings it to its full potential.” Listen to the track below.
