Leo, March 2016

Between the two eclipses and so many planets changing signs, lots of changes are coming this month—but a new season is coming, and, with that, a new chapter in your life.

In our monthly horoscopes, we provide a more in depth look at what's happening in the sky. You can read the rest of our monthly horoscopes here.

March brings plenty of shifts: Two planets change signs on March 5, when Mercury enters Pisces and Mars enters Sagittarius. Mercury is a very detail-oriented, logical planet, so being in poetic Pisces is definitely a challenge. While Pisces is very psychic, strengthening your sixth sense, warrior Mars in Sagittarius will be firing up the area of your chart that rules romance and creativity. You'll definitely be in the mood to party.

Both Sagittarius and Pisces are Mutable signs, meaning they close a season—in Sag's case, autumn, and in Pisces's, winter. Mutable signs are all about flexibility and knowledge—I guess that means smart people don't get stuck in a rut? And can see things from various angles? Meditate on that, Leo: It might not be a super important concept at the beginning of March, but it will be an important thing to have a deep understanding of by the end of the month.

On March 8 we have solar eclipse in Pisces, which will bring up a lot of sensitive (everything concerning Pisces is sensitive) situations. Eclipses often bring sudden changes and surprises, and since this one is taking place in such a tender area of your chart, it's important that you take it slow today. Things will come to light that you previously couldn't see but are ready to handle and work with now, especially concerning your sex life and any issues surrounding intimacy. Concerns about death or inheritance could also come up.

Intimacy will deepen around March 12, and it will be time to examine those issues around sex, emotional connection, and trust.

Seductive Venus, the planet of love and money, enters Pisces on March 12, bringing good vibes to the same area of your chart that the solar eclipse has just occurred in. Receptive Venus in empathetic Pisces will definitely bless you with some heightened intuition. Intimacy will deepen during this time, and it will be time to examine those issues around sex, emotional connection, and trust—really, your focus will be on how deep someone is willing to get with you. You'll also notice this intensity around financial situations, especially concerning your partners.

The spring equinox arrives on March 20; the Sun enters fellow Fire sign Aries, followed by Mercury also entering Aries on March 21. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, representing bravery and independence, and after a month of the Sun (your ruling planet!) in mushy Water sign Pisces you're definitely ready for a change of pace. Aries occupies the sector of your chart that rules higher learning and travel, so new experiences are certainly on the way for you. If you're currently in school, this will be a confident time for you, ditto if you're living abroad or taking a trip.

On March 23 Jupiter squares (a tense astrological aspect) Saturn. Jupiter is the planet of abundance, luck, and consumption, while Saturn is a grumpy, mean planet that wants to confine and conserve. When these two planets clash, however we have been irresponsible, clueless, or immature will need to be dealt with. This is an important day for you to be financially mature and not party too hard—two things that are mega difficult for a Leo.

Stay humble today, and try to be as flexible as you can with your thinking: Mercury, the planet of the mind, will meet with your ruling planet, the Sun, on this day, which could inspire you to believe you know it all. Remember: Flexibility and the ability to understand multiple opinions (and truths—there are often more than one) is true wisdom. You know a lot, Leo, but you don't know everything, and other people's opinions matter, too. Focus on the big picture today, don't get lost in the details, and most importantly, agree to disagree. There's enough tension in the sky today—don't create any drama down on Earth!

March 23 is an important day for you to be financially mature and not party too hard—two things that are mega difficult for a Leo.

Also on March 23, we have the full Moon lunar eclipse in Libra. Libra is an intellectual Air sign, all about fairness and objectivity. Again, you're going to have a hard time being objective today, being that the Sun, the planet of the ego, is setting with the planet of the mind, Mercury; however, the energy today is so tense, it would be worth it for you to try your best to be cooperative (and humble).

Eclipses are super transformative, showing us information in a brand new light. This eclipse will fall in the sector of your chart that rules the mind and communication, and it will take place in a sign that's super logical, so expect today to bring you a new way of thinking and some much needed (and likely previously hidden) information.

On March 25 taskmaster Saturn stations retrograde (meaning it pauses in the sky and then retraces the steps it's taken through the zodiac) in fellow Fire sign, fun and free-spirited Sagittarius, which will find you reflecting on the structures you've built and the work you've done around romance and creativity since last August 2015. Perhaps you have developed a new "type" since then that you will now begin reconsidering, or maybe a hobby you've been working hard on will now come under reviews.

March 25 could be a good day to reflect on the structures in your life: Are the people and things you're focusing on really worth your time and energy?

Also on March 25, Venus opposes Jupiter and squares Saturn. Venus in Pisces is super sweet, so getting tangled up in tense aspects like these will create a deeply sensitive vibe. The Sun might be in bright Fire sign Aries, but Venus is not in the mood to fight—Venus in Pisces wants connection, understanding, and forgiveness. The opposition day to Jupiter will bring up some issues concerning your money and how willing you and your partners are to share with each other—sharing in both an emotional and material sense.

The square to Saturn, the planet of restriction, will definitely put you in a gloomy mood. You'll feel uninspired and bored—this probably isn't the best day to plan a date, play a show, or throw a party. But it could be a good day to reflect on the structures in your life: Are the people and things you're focusing on really worth your time and energy? If not, don't worry: Things will improve soon.

The month wraps up with the Sun in Aries trine (a super easy astrological aspect) Mars in Sagittarius on March 26. This month has not been easy, with so much to think through, and so many feelings to sort out. But when the Sun and Mars come together, you'll feel reenergized and inspired. Invitations to shows, parties, dates, or an adventure will come your way at the end of the month.

It's a moody March, but it's your nature to be optimistic. Spring is nearly here, and the equinox is right around the corner on March 20. Between the two eclipses and so many planets changing signs, lots of changes are coming this month, but a new season is coming and with that, a new chapter in your life.
