Ryan Miller Dives Across Empty Net to Make Nasty Glove Save

Not much went right for the Canucks and Miller last night, but this sure did.

The Red Wings beat the Canucks 3-1 last night in Detroit but it could have been 4-1, if not for Vancouver goalie Ryan Miller's hypnotic performance up there. The play came with just under two minutes to go in the third period. Vancouver was in the process of taking Miller off for an extra skater when, unfortunately, they turned the puck over in the neutral zone and Detroit captain Henrik Zetterberg had a bead on the now vacant net. So Miller turned around and scrambled back to see what he could do. Zetterberg let it rip from the red line, and Miller went sprawling, making a diving glove save. The overhead shot really is something to watch, as he enters, makes the save, and departs the frame.

The play earned Miller a standing ovation from the Detroit crowd, which is easy enough when you're about to close out a win, but generous nonetheless. But that didn't do anything for Miller's mood—he's getting tired of this shit.

"Coming back from two goals is tough, but anything can happen," Miller said of vacating the net. "It was such a quick turnover and I had already started and I'm kind of sick of seeing pucks go into empty nets."

Detroit scored 32 seconds into the game on a fairly wide open net after Miller blocked a shot right in front, his first brush with Zetterberg, but gave up a juicy rebound that Dylan Larkin simply had to tap back in.

The Canucks just wrapped up a six-game road trip with an abysmal 1-5 record, so it's possible Miller's tired of that shit, too.
