Martavis Bryant Makes Absurd Catch, Pinning Ball Against his Legs as he Flips

Martavis Bryant made a ridiculous flipping catch.

This game has been really weird, and violent, and now, kind of beautiful, in an impossible way. The Steelers had the ball on the Bengals ten-yard line after Antonio Brown turned a quick pass up the middle into a 60 yard pickup, and after a run for no gain (and a bit of a brawl in the aftermath), they lined up for second-and-goal. Roethlisberger threw it to Martavis Bryant at the back corner of the end zone and Bryant made a ridiculous effort to control it as he fell out of bounds.

At first blush, it looked like he simply stabbed it out of the air, but he actually lost control of it as he was twisting in the air. He tried pinning it against his legs, but his momentum was going to force him to land awkwardly on his face as he tried to hang on to the ball. Instead of landing on his face, or dropping the ball as he tried to break his fall, he flipped! He was able to cradle it and maintain possession through the process of the catch. It was called a touchdown on the field and upheld upon review. Pittsburgh now leads 15-0 and barring a miracle from A.J. McCarron, will likely advance to play the Broncos.
