Ryan Goins Ends Game With Leaping, Bare-Handed Play

Ryan Goins records the final out with his bare hand.

Ryan Goins made a spectacular play to record the final out of Toronto's 8-0 win over the Cubs last night. What looked to be a fairly routine play to his right, turned into a sweet highlight reel entry when the english-heavy ball took a wild bounce away from where his momentum was carrying him. The sudden redirection forced Goins to jump and reach back with his bare hand to snag the ball out of the air. He did it flawlessly and threw to first with ease.

The play ended the game and preserved a complete-game shutout for Blue Jays rookie Marcus Stroman, who struck out eight, walked none, and gave up only three hits.
