Barcelona Seals Copa Del Rey with a Pair of Last-Second Wonder Goals

After already claiming La Liga as champions, it felt only fitting for Barcelona to walk away from this one with the Copa del Rey.

You almost have to feel bad for Sevilla. Almost. They started out the Copa Del Rey with little-to-no chance against the league champions Barcelona—after a season that saw the two teams six places and 39 points apart. But a glimmer of hope shone through, as Barcelona went down a man in the first half on a red card. Opportunities were built, but nothing came about. That is, until extra time when Barcelona had something to say. And holy shit, did they say it.

As if compensating for their lack of players, Lionel Messi took the role of two passes with one of the nastiest assists you'll see—dropping the ball pinpoint into Jordi Alba's lap for a gentle left-footed guiding of the ball into the corner of the net. Yes, Alba scored, but Messi deserves at least 1,000 points for that field vision and pass.

And since this is Barcelona, we shouldn't let just Messi be the lone representative of the Leo-Neymar-Suarez holy trinity in this Copa Del Rey victory. So Neymar jumped in to seal the game—with a goal off of a pass from, of course, Messi himself. Messi seemed to pull some mid-level (for him) bewitchment on the 122-minute fatigued Sevilla defenders, and found a beautiful back door-cutting Neymar for a second goal on the night.

After already claiming La Liga as champions, it felt only fitting for Barcelona to walk away from this one with the copa. Even, and somehow especially, if they only had ten men.
