Baylor Wide Receiver Caught on Camera Viciously Beating Dog with Strap

The video was shared by a teammate on Snapchat and then recorded by another Baylor student.

As if the Baylor football team couldn't descend deeper into their own filth-ridden cesspool of depravity following a horrific sexual assault coverup scandal this past May. Now one of their players has been caught viciously beating an innocent animal with a strap, as appears to be the scene in an exclusive video from Waco's News Channel 25.

Wide receiver Ishmael Zamora was filmed in a Snapchat by another Baylor player, which was recorded by former Baylor student Shelby Ball. Ball went to the police shortly after seeing the video, and told News Channel 25 of the scene, "I can't imagine anybody who loves their dog and treats their dog well, hitting their dog against the face because they had an accident in the house." She also added, ""Dogs can't speak for themselves… I felt like something needed to be done."

Here is a picture of Zamora's dog from his Instagram account:

"I lost my temper trying to discipline him," Zamora told News Channel 25 in a statement. "I've been through training with a dog trainer to help me learn new potty training tips."

Per News Channel 25, the abuse resulted in a Class C misdemeanor charge and a citation for Zamora for as much as $500.

UPDATE:

Baylor has decided to take disciplinary action against Zamora, but it's not entirely clear how, as Zamora is still practicing with the team, according to ESPN. Meanwhile, interim Baylor coach Jim Grobe—who took over after Art Briles—made a statement that feels a little on the pass-the-buck kind of side of the spectrum:

"I think he's going to be disciplined by a bunch of people—the city is gonna get a piece of him, and our university doesn't take it lightly," Grobe said. "There will be some sanctions from the university and, from an athletic department standpoint, we'll do some things. But hopefully it's a teaching moment and a learning experience for him."

Disciplined by a bunch of people? Like, not-so-much you? Grobe continued, and tried to contextualize the situation.

"I think he just was frustrated and spanked his dog for not being house-trained, and you just can't do that," Grobe said. "He knows that. He loves the dog and takes great care of the dog, other than, you know, losing his temper with the dog. I think he's taken pretty good care of him."

Uh-huh.
