There's No Real Name For The Insane Assist That Russell Westbrook Just Delivered

Westbrook is the seventh player to ever register a 20-20 triple double—the first in 18 years. The last person to do so? Magic Johnson.

Russell Westbrook is on an absolute tear this year. Some might say he's got an edge after feeling burnt from Kevin Durant's exodus from Oklahoma City, but it's clear that he's not burnt, so much as on fire. Just take a peek at this absolute nonsense Westbrook conjured in tonight's game against the Phoenix Suns.

I'm plumbing my brain for the exact brand of what-the-fuck that this drive elicits, and I'm coming up blank. It's kind of like an iso, Shammgod turned into a no-touch, let go of the ball pass. But that doesn't really do it justice.

If Alfonso Cuaron were directing this game, a camera would probably follow the ball—fixed, close—as it zigs and zags through Westbrook's immaculate handle, eventually drifting out of Westbrook's hands, then rotating 180 degrees to be greeted by the grinning, Snidely Whiplash clutches of Steven Adams. Because you couldn't possibly understand the way that Westbrook bewitches the ball into zero-G without following the ball that tightly. It is just so beautiful.

Oh, and it's probably important to say that Westbrook not only made things look this pretty tonight—he also registered a 26-22-11 triple double. That makes him the seventh player to ever register a 20-20 triple double—the first in 18 years. The last person to do so? Magic Johnson. Unreal.
