Oakland Kicker Handles Botched Snap on 4th and 24, Gets First Down Like a Boss

Maybe King should start receiving the punts instead of delivering him.

There's no story about a punter doing something awesome that I'm going to dislike. The poor guys are asked to play an entirely different game than everyone else, and it's usually a bad thing when they have to do otherwise.

But Oakland Raiders' Marquette King—who found himself with a line of Jacksonville Jaguars barreling at him at 4th and 24—wasn't anybody's fool as he handled a botched snap. Instead of going for a punt that invariably would have been stuffed down his throat, or gotten him tackled, he decided to turn on his afterburners and make up for the 40 yards between him and the first down. And good goddamn, did he do it.

Let's take a look at another angle of King's heroics:

Prior to that moment, King had five punts, 55 yards per punt, with four out of five of his those landing within the 20. I know he's doing well with this whole kicking thing, but maybe King should start receiving the punts instead of delivering them. Or maybe just both.
