On a typical warm Los Angeles morning, camera crews and celebrity reporters gathered inside the office of attorney Mark Geragos, who represents musician Chris Brown.

Earlier this week, the LAPD arrested Brown on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon at his home in Los Angeles suburb Tarzana after former beauty contestant and singer Baylee Curran alleged Brown put a gun to her head. She called the cops, and a scene ensued involving a SWAT team waiting outside Brown's house. "The response was something out of the siege of Fallujah," Geragos said at the press conference, which he had called in order to let the public know his client denies all accusations.

"This is not the first time someone has made up a false accusation against Chris Brown," he added.

It's also not the first time Brown has been accused of violence against women. He plead guilty in 2009 to one charge of felony assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna. Four years later, a rehab facility forced Brown to leave after he allegedly threw a rock through his mom's car window.

Geragos, who has previously represented Scott Peterson and Michael Jackson, hosted the press conference inside his office's model courtroom. Before the conference started, an employee of his told a cameraman that Mark Geragos owned the whole office building, which is located in downtown LA. "Who's Mark?" the cameraman asked.

Geragos's restaurant, 10e, catered the event, supplying reporters with potatoes, cheese, and eggs. "You guys all eat?" Geragos asked at the start of the conference.

Then Geragos got down to business. He wanted to dispel "urban myths that aren't accurate" about Brown. First up, he insisted, Brown did not have a "stand-off" with cops. Authorities arrived on the scene on Tuesday morning; according to Geragos, Brown then called him. Geragos asked if cops had come with a search or arrest warrant. They hadn't. Geragos told his client to stay inside until he arrived and/or the cops received a search warrant.

"Given his history, I think that was the prudent thing to do," Geragos said before continuing to detail his account of that day's events: He arrived, cops retained a search warrant, and then they searched the house. Geragos claims they did not find weapons or drugs. TMZ, conversely, has reported that authorities found both a bag of drugs and at least one weapon.

The rest of the conference mostly consisted of Geragos painting Brown as a victim of society and criticizing Curran, whom he referred to as the "so-called accuser." He also claimed to have learned of an alleged text she sent that said, "MFer is going to go down." Geragos said she also may have written that she was going to accuse Brown of pointing a gun at her because she was mad he had asked her to leave his home. (Geragos said he has not authenticated the text's existence.)

Neither Guzman nor Curran returned Broadly's request for comment. In an interview with E! News on Wednesday, Curran said, "His fans are very forgiving and very supportive. I'm pretty sure they will forgive him for this, but it's not really fair [for him] to make himself the victim when I had a gun in my face."

Geragos claims society has mistreated Brown. As an example, he offered the fact that Brown has had six stalkers, and he reminded reporters that home invaders allegedly robbed Brown's home, tied his aunt up, and locked her in a closet. "You have to understand it against that backdrop," Geragos said.

Near the end of his conference, Geragos said, "He's Chris Brown, and therefore he doesn't get the rights of other people, and that's not fair."

It also seems unfair to the men and women who haven't received as many chances as Chris Brown.
