VICE Sports Olympic Morning Preview, August 10, 2016

Good morning, America. Throughout the Olympics, we'll be providing you with morning previews about the action in Rio, with a focus athletes from the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Here's what to watch for today, August 10th, 2016.

The following events will all see medals awarded today:

The men's individual all-around gymnastics are probably the main draw. Two Americans, Samuel Mikulak and Christopher Brooks will take part.

In the river, we move from canoe events to the individual kayak slalom. Qualifying rounds begin this morning, with Michal Smolen (USA) the only North American participant. Smolen was born in Krakow, Poland. He won bronze in the 2015 Under 23 World Championships.

Today features the final two road cycling events of the Olympics: men's and women's individual time trials. The women are already on their bikes. Tara Whitten and Karol-Ann Canuel are riding for Canada. Evelyn Stevens and Kristin Armstrong represent the U.S. The men's time trial will feature Hugo Houle (CAN), Brent Bookwalter (USA), and Taylor Phinney (USA).

The diving pool will host the men's synchronized 3 meter springboard. The American pair of Sam Dorman and Mike Hixon and the Canadian pair of Jahir Ocampo and Rommel Pacheco will be hoping to beat the Chinese, who have a strangle hold on Olympic diving.

In Fencing, the women's individual foil tournament gets underway. As I write this, American Nzingha Prescod is battling Mexican Nataly Michel. Canadian Eleanor Harvey and American Lee Kiefer will take the floor later. Harvey is only 21 and won gold in the team competition at the 2015 PanAm Games.

In Judo, American Colton Brown will do battle in the men's 90 kg tournament. On the women's side, Canadian Kelita Zupancic will take part in the 70 kg tournament.

In shooting, we've got the men's 50 meter pistol. The Men's double tap finals were supposed to happen today, but they've been rescheduled. The pistol qualifying rounds are on right now. Jay Shi and Will Brown are representing the U.S.A.

In the pool, we've got the men's 100 meter breaststroke and freestyle finals and the women's 200 meter butterfly final. The 100 meter breaststroke features Americans Kevin Cordes and Josh Prenot. The 100 meter freestyle finals have Caeleb Dressel and Nathan Adrian, both of the U.S.A., alongside Santo Condorelli of Canada. In the women's butterfly, Americans Hali Flickinger and Cammile Adams will be hoping for gold.

Weightlifting will feature two medal rounds, in the men's 77 kg and women's 69 kg events. As of this writing, it remains unclear which athletes have qualified.
