Draymond Green's Mom Surprises Him to Tell Him He's an All Star, He Almost Cries

He didn't want to be made "the crying face instead of Jordan."

Can we stop calling her Draymond Green's mom? I know I just did in the headline, but that's just so it'd be recognizable to whoever. But seriously. We all need to be on a full name basis with Mary Babers-Green, and start referring to Draymond as Mary Babers-Green's son. She is spectacular. Just take a look above.

In a sly move by CSN Bay Area, the network coordinated an interview with Draymond to split screens and audio (though apparently, Draymond only had audio) to have Mary Babers-Green announce that Draymond was selected as an NBA All Star reserve. It's a beautiful moment, as Mary Babers-Green calls him by his nickname, Dae-Dae (sp?), and reveals that all the women in his family are with her in the background to congratulate him.

"You know every time I said this was a popularity contest? Someone thought you was popular!"

Draymond gets a little choked up about the whole experience and even went on to say later (after what ended up being a somewhat painfully drawn out interview):

As if Draymond making a Jordan crying meme reference was not enough: we might even get a chance to see Mary Babers-Green braid Kawhi Leonard's hair—if he lets her.

Can someone please tell Kawhi Leonard to let me braid his cornrows for the ALL-STAR GAME..IM SERIOUS FRFR #noshade I would be honored!

But of course he would. She's Mary Babers-Green.
