Istanbul's One Love Festival–which was scheduled to take place today–has been cancelled due to the ongoing conflict over an attempted military coup in Turkey. Scheduled performers for this year's festival included Ben Pearce, HVOB, Klangkarussell and Butch.In a statement on their website, festival organizers state that a new date will be announced if they decide to go forward with holding the event. Ticket purchasers may request a refund for the event and if a new date is announced, ticket purchasers may use their previously purchased tickets for July 17th.Since the failed coup of current Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkey has arrested more than 6,000 people in connection with the plot including three top generals and hundreds of soldiers.
