Wade Boggs Wears Yankees World Series Ring to Ceremony in Fenway Park

Wade Boggs is the best. Because he was a Champion with the Yankees and has the hardware to prove it. Even in Boston.

Oh, this is delicious. As he put his hand over the Red Sox logo covering his heart during a celebration on Wednesday night at Fenway Park for the 1986 World Series runner up Boston team, Wade Boggs wore what appears to be the most important bit of memorabilia from his storied career: his championship ring from the 1996 World Series with the New York Yankees. Boggs either didn't realize he was wearing it, or didn't care. I'm guessing he didn't care. The whole point of getting those rings is to wear them at events (sort of ) like this one. You're not wearing that thing to the grocery store to pick up 107 Miller Lites.

Boggs played 11 seasons in Boston before joining the Yankees for five seasons beginning in 1993, and played in the World Series for both franchises. His stats were slightly better in '86 but, obviously, he's more proud of his performance a decade later. He rode a damned horse for crying out loud. It's all fun and games now that the Red Sox have gone on to win multiple World Series and currently have the best record in the American League, but can you imagine if this happened in, say, the 2004 season? My goodness, I would pay good money to see the entire city of Boston collectively pass out from anger.
