Bibio Announces Eighth Studio Album — A Mineral Love

Back in November we reported that Stephen Wilkinson, aka Bibio, was due to put out an album with Warp in 2016. That time has now come.

The guitarist and producer will release A Mineral Love on April 1, and that's no joke. What might fool you are wumpy bass and galactic mini-Moog expressions that sound sampled straight out of a 70s funk record — they're created entirely from scratch. "I partly want it to sound like sampled records," says Wilkinson in the press release, "but by crafting every single detail myself and colouring it to have familiar textures that resonate [with] people's forgotten memories."

The track list below features some interesting guest appearances, including the Grammy-award winning producer Gotye. For a taste of what to expect, watch the first single "Feeling" below, and we swear you'll think you're seeing a visual appreciation for a record that's been barrel-aged 30 years.
