Digital magazine The Pop Manifesto has recruited British DJ, producer, radio host, and East London Club Trax label co-head Dean Lyon for the next release on its fledgling in-house record label TPM.

Lyon, who was drawn to dance music as a teenager by underground pirate radio and UKG mixes gifted to him by his brother, pulls inspiration for his productions from his London surroundings, be it UK Funky, garage, or grime. For his new Club Insomnia / Fade Away EP, however, his influences travel beyond his hometown borders to Ayia Napa, Cyprus—more specifically, as he states in a press release, to the southern coast resort's nightlife.

The dark, primal drum rhythms of "Club Insomnia" paint a picture of sweat dripping off the ceiling of a packed, heaving dancefloor. While "Fade Away" is the kind of mellow, bass-y tune that stays engrained in your brain when leaving the club, its vocal samples sweeping across the ears like a pleasantly brisk breeze.
