President Obama to Ty Lue: Tell J.R. To Put on A Shirt

President Obama wants J.R. Smith to put a shirt on.

When @POTUS calls, you answer. Watch as Coach Lue receives a ring from the @Whitehouse.https://t.co/m9xkCRCBqf

It's got to be some kind of feeling to get a phone call from the President of the United States congratulating you on a job well done, and then it's got to be a wholly different kind of feeling to have part of the call contain the phrase "Tell J.R. and everybody to put on a shirt." But this is where we are in 2016, though. After guiding the Cavs to a Finals win over the Warriors, Tyrone Lue got a phone call from President Obama telling him what a great job he did. The two spoke for nearly four minutes about the season, and series, and just basketball in general, but just before getting off the phone, Obama razzed Lue's players a bit for walking around shirtless for most of the week.

"Congratulations again, thanks for taking my call…Tell J.R. and everybody to put on a shirt, though. You can't be just walking around without a shirt for, like, a whole week. Shumpert takin' off his shirt, Kyrie takin' off his shirt—come on, man. But I guess if you're built like that, you know…"

There's a lot to love about this conversation, but it's pretty wild that the President thanked Ty Lue for taking his call.
