Purdue's Fake Onside Kick Was Only Just One of Their Bad Decisions Today

I dunno, man. It's hard to say what the hell is going on here.

Purdue seems to be full of weird-ass decisions today. In their outmatched game against the Iowa Hawkeyes, they took a knee at the one-yard-line by mistake, one of their players ran into a ref on a route, and then they took a timeout right before the half, only to take a knee on 4th and two. And all that stuff—in the last sentence—just happened on one drive.

Well now, they've done gone for a fake onside punt, or something. They switched the kicker to the opposite side, and maybe tried to catch the return team unawares? But they kicked it straight to star cornerback Desmond King (who would later intercept a pass with less than two minutes to go for a touchdown)? I dunno, man. It's hard to say what the hell is going on here.

In any event, Purdue somehow managed to make the game seem closer than it was, with the Hawkeyes squeaking out a 49-35 win over the Boilermakers.
