Just a week after a Toronto activist sued to try to prevent Cleveland from using its nickname and racist logo during the ALCS, this guy showed up to Progressive (lol) Field for Game 1 of the World Series. God, what is wrong with people? Why on earth would anyone spend time painting their face and gathering the supplies necessary to make this racist mascot come to life? Is there no point when you're looking at yourself in the mirror as you paint on the absurdly large teeth over your mouth and think, Could this be a bad idea?Clevelanders, can we maybe not dress in red face as we embark on a feel-good World Series matchup between two historic ne'er-do-wells? I mean, let's face it, you were already in a tough spot because you are going against the hapless Cubs—poster children for lovable loser franchises—not to mention LeBron and the Cavs tip off tonight as reigning NBA champs. Whatever good will or karmic advantage Cleveland may have had going into tonight's opener is now officially squandered thanks to this moron dressed up as a racist caricature more than four and half hours before first pitch.
