'You Don't Need to Know Them Personally to Feel Empathy for Them'

This is why I oppose Trump's immigration restrictions.

Broadly: Why do you oppose Trump's immigration orders right now?

Sarah, 20, from Cairo, Egypt: His orders are pushing his Islamophobic agenda. I think it has nothing to do with terrorism. It's just xenophobia basically. He hasn't even banned the actual countries where the terrorists came from. He keeps talking about 9/11, but those terrorists actually came from countries that aren't on the list. His ban makes no sense and it's not for the reasons he says it's for.

How does it affect you or your loved ones?

Since I'm Egyptian it doesn't affect me or my family, but I do know a lot of people from these countries that I'm not sure how much it will affect them but just the idea, like what if someone needs treatment or what if for whatever reason someone needs to travel to the US. It just doesn't make sense. Especially if they have green cards or are immigrants. You don't need to know them personally to feel empathy for them.

"If I could say one thing to Trump about the immigration restrictions, it would be…"

That it's wack.
