This Digital Animation Illustrates the Creative Process

L’Éloi and Trusst teamed up to make an animated short that shows what it’s like to try on different ideas during a brainstorm session.

The term “brainstorm” may be an irritating bit of office jargon, but the idea—collaborative creation and innovation—is integral to the development of new work by any sort of team. L’Éloi, a Montreal-based agency that represents photographers, art directors, and other creatives, produced this TRUSST-directed animation, which brings the concept of a brainstorm to visual life. "The idea behind this brief was to illustrate the creative process and show a vision of what a brainstorm would visually look like,” L’Éloi’s Sebastien Hotte tells The Creators Project. "Exploring with a wide range of textures, such as sponges, fabrics and paintings, that were carefully photographed and curated in order to be integrated digitally. These photos were used to design the 3D animation and generate a tangible finish to the video.” The animation served as the opening video for Créa, the Quebec advertising awards showcase.
