Kneel and "Tremble" Before Body of Light's Overwhelming New Single

The Arizona duo's returns with'Let Me Go,' a new full length for Dais due July 22.

Alex and Andrew Jarson, the two brothers who make up the Arizona duo Body of Light, know how to aim for the rafters. You may not guess it given their past orbiting experimental scenes as part of the Ascetic House label/collective—that crew tends to shun outright ecstasy in favor of something a little more insular and strange—but their synth exercises skew big, bombastic, erotic, and emotional in a way that can feel all-consuming. They have the ability to overwhelm you, and their new track "Tremble," taken from a forthcoming LP on Dais called Let Me Go, is the perfect example of why you should let them.

Over mountainous synth arpeggios, the brothers harmonize and heave, singing abstractions about the moments that move you most—love, weakness, and fear. The tremors they suggest in the title seem to be born of love, or desire, but the searing construction of the track is a reminder that you can also tremble in anger, terror, shock, or awe. It's an involuntary physical response for when your emotions are too powerful to contain, which itself is a handy metaphor for how Body of Light operates. Don't be afraid, just let it all overtake you.

The track's out now, right here, but today the Jarsons have also announced that they'll be releasing Let Me Go on July 22, so you can also check out the artwork by Collin Fletcher (who did the cover of Rabit's Communion) and the tracklist below too.
