Mad Decent have taken their legendary Block Party on the road this August bringing their sticky, sweaty, messy mayhem, and 345 drops (over a seven and half hour period) to outdoor venues all across the States. Noisey flew down to one of the first shows—which took place in a parking lot in Fort Lauderdale—to see what was up. As Diplo later described it on Instagram: "FT. LAUDERDALE WAS LIT."

The artists—including Jack U, Major Lazer, Yellow Claw, Zeds Dead, TWRK and others—had a slightly delayed start (due to a blown tire on the truck with all of the sound + lights), but the late kick off meant everyone, including the artists, went 24 times harder.

At one point several policeman stood guard around a mountain of ice, because anything cold was hot commodity in the Floridian humidity. Bangers for days and anything goes—here's what you missed.

So another thing that happened on Saturday was Noisey flew to Fort Lauderdale to attend the Block Party with Nicolas and Franccesca—two Bud Light Summer Bucket List competition winners who got an all expenses paid trip to FL (shouts out to Bud Light)—and here are their highlights according to Nicolas:

"The biggest turn out to date, I was impressed with the vibrancy of the crowd and their devout fanaticism. After Saturday, we too are converts. Jack U's massive beats as the sun set provided a perfect introduction as we walked into the festival and further madness ensued when Dutch trio Yellow Claw's took over the stage: they never, ever fail to rile up a crowd. Having just missed Major Lazer on a trip to Vegas last year, we were full of anticipation and it was clear everyone in the wall-to-wall crowd felt the same. Anxiety grew, sporadic chants broke out and broke off and upon blast off, the energy of entire place exploded as Major Lazer unleashed a massive set, flawlessly reading and reciprocating the energy of the crowd. It was our first time witnessing their magic touch and it blew us away."
