Sonic Groove label leader Adam X has long been one of techno's biggest proponents of industrial music, always available to school you on the difference between EBM, rhythmic noise, electro, and all the other sub-sub-genres the music has splinted into since Throbbing Gristle first pounded on amplified oil drums. For the latest release on his long-running imprint, Adam offers up an EP by Eric van Wonterghem of the pioneering Belgian EBM group Klinik under his more dance floor aimed Monolith alias.

Time Running Out marks the second release by van Wonterghem on Sonic Groove, following his 2014 Near Crash EP. Fans of any of Monolith's releases will recognize the distorted kicks and serrated-edge noises that van Wonterghem masterfully mixes so that they split the speakers, and your head, in half. That rumble and crunch play off each other to muster a massive assault on the senses, which never gives you a moment to shuffle and chill. This is uncompromising body music that both excites when it comes on and relieves when it lets go. Time Running Out is out February 19 on Sonic Groove.
