Ahh, Peckham, the jewel in the glorious crown that is South East London. Rye Lane! Bellenden Road! Lyndhurst Grove! THUMP never needs an excuse to amble through SE15, nipping into pub after cafe, charity shop after record store, before rounding off a perfect day at Canavan's or the Bussey Building, so it wasn't surprising that we found ourselves in the area this weekend just gone for the inaugural edition of the Peckham Rye Music Festival.Featuring the likes of Juan Atkins, Kassem Mosse, Benji B, Chaos in the CBD and Leisureware, the two day, multi-venue bash was an unmitigated success, and we're already counting down the days till next year's event. In the meantime, we'll have to make do with this recording of DJ Qu and DJ October's incredible back to back set, sent our way by James Browning and the rest of the Balamii crew.Taken from their set at Peckham Springs, this one's a three hour run through hard funk, shiny disco classicism, churning minimal house and tops-off big room bangers that sounded absolutely perfect with a very cold beer in hand. Relive it below.Check out more from Balamii here.
