Look, I don't have any proof that the referees for the African Cup of Nations semifinal between Equatorial Guinea and Ghana decided to play the last 8 minutes of the game after violent fan outbursts solely so that Ghana could do this awesome dance when they finally did win 3-0. I have no reason to believe that whatsoever. What I do know is there was no good reason to finish the game, since Equatorial Guinea was not going to score three goals in 8 minutes. I also know that this dance, this homoerotic helicopter combined with a lot of other players shaking and gyrating in suggestive manners, was great. The world would have been a worse place had this never been done. Sometimes good things come from ugly displays. Or, in this case, mildly horrifying things.
