As a rule, though, that contribution is a net positive, not negative. Perennial fuckup Arsène Wenger has gone and broken that rule.Ever since his (near-flawless) 2004 title, Wenger has delivered Arsenal to 11 straight years of third- and fourth-place finishes—soon to be 12, as the Premier League comes to a close and the team settles into their all but reserved fourth-place spot. To the uninitiated, this might not sound so bad. What's wrong with finishing so consistently in the top four? To anyone familiar with Arsenal's transfer budget this season (a whopping $110 million), their absurd talent, and Wenger's seemingly uncontested reign over the squad since 1996, however, this isn't great. Fans are pissed, and they have already called for Wenger's resignation.So to what does Wenger owe his failure to bring a title back to Emirates Stadium this season?
