Desus and Mero Defend a Teacher Who Was Arrested for Punching a Neo-Nazi

The VICELAND hosts stand with middle school teacher Yvette Felarca.

After watching what went down in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the weekend, there's no denying that white supremacy is alive and well in the United States. The events at the "Unite the Right" rally—including the car attack that left counter-protestor Heather Heyer dead and many others injured—have led VICELAND hosts Desus and Mero to ask a very important question: How should we deal with Nazis?

According to California middle school teacher Yvette Felarca, who was arrested back in 2016 for punching a neo-Nazi at a demonstration,"we have to shut them down by any means necessary." The 47-year-old is now facing a felony assault charge.

"Standing up against fascism and the rise of Nazism and fascism in this country is not a crime," she said at her arraignment, according to Huffington Post. "We have the right to defend ourselves."

And the VICELAND hosts tend to agree. On Thursday's episode of Desus & Mero, the duo watched the clip of Felarca taking down the neo-Nazi sympathizer and discussed their strong opinions about why it should be legal to do so.

You can watch Thursday night's Desus & Mero for free online now, and be sure to catch new episodes weeknights at 11 PM on VICELAND.
