Giants DT Jay Bromley Accused of Trying to Rape Woman, Driving Away with her On Hood of Car

Jay Bromley reportedly attempted to rape a woman and later hit her with his car.

New York Giants defensive tackle Jay Bromley has been accused of attempting to rape a 26-year-old woman he met via Instagram early Saturday morning. After meeting on the social media site, Bromley picked up the woman from her home Saturday morning and took her to a hotel in Herald's Square where the two got a room using Bromley's credit card.

Via the New York Daily News:

Once in the room, the woman performed oral sex on Bromley but then didn't want to go further, sources said.
"At that point, something took place that she didn't want to take place," a police source with knowledge of the investigation said.
The woman claimed that Bromley tried to rape her.

Bromley—who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 306 pounds—evidently left at some point after and tried to drive away, but the woman wanted him to drive her home. When Bromley refused, she jumped on the hood of his car to stop him, but he continued to drive with her on the car. She eventually fell off, sustaining injuries to her knees and legs. She called police around 4:00 a.m. and she was taken to Bellevue Hospital where a rape kit test was performed.

The Giants are aware of the incident and "have notified the league office per the league's protocol," but will have no further comment. Bromley, a Queens native, was a third-round pick out of Syracuse in the 2014 draft and played in all 16 games for the Giants this season.
