Sad-Ass Boston College Senior's Favorite College Basketball Moment: "Going Out to Eat"

Get this guy some comfort food.

Aw man. Aw man. Boston College wrapped a miserable season in the ACC with an 88-66 loss to Florida State last night in the opening round of the ACC Tournament to finish 0-19 in conference play. They did manage to eke out a few wins this season, however, and finished at 7-25 overall. Still, that's not great, and it has probably not been all that fun to play for the Eagles this season. So, when senior center Dennis Clifford was asked what will be his best memory from playing college ball, recent history was possibly clouding his recollection. In response, he stammered, lowered his head for a few seconds before raising it again, eyes red with tears, and said: "Going out to eat." He then shook his head and lowered it again.

Boston College has never won more than 16 games in a season during Clifford's time at the school, and they've never been above .500. In his sophomore season, they only won eight games, one more than this year's squad. It's possible going out to eat really was the best part of his time in college.

Clifford fouled out with just over nine minutes left to play, so what was likely his last game as an Eagle—unless they go to one of the growing list of lesser postseason tournaments out there—was cut prematurely short. But if you're into silver linings, at least this season wasn't as long as it could have been for him, if only by ten minutes.
