Let's abolish the word "cheeky" shall we? Because this goal was straight devious.

Jimmy Briand Cheeky Backheel Goal vs Rennes (0… by wittyfutty

What's the deal with the words "cheeky backheel?" Why do they always go together—why does a backheel always have to be cheeky? Every other type of move in soccer has like a million adjectives to go along with it, so why don't backheels? (Always with this bullshit "cheekiness"—come off it.) I propose a change: let's start calling backheels "devious." Much better, right?

Well, today in a match against Rennes, EA Guingamp's Jimmy Brand found himself in front of the goal with only a little bit of space as the keeper closed in on him. So what does he decide to do? Something devious, that's what. Briand reaches out to control the ball with his back to the goal, gets enough of a handle on it to position it under his knee, and slaps it back with his heel. Guingamp would later come away with a 3-0 scoreline, but Briand would have the highlight of the day. Simply dripping with deviousness.
