Steph Curry Could Miss Two Weeks with MCL Strain

Two weeks without Curry? It's pretty bad, but it could be worse.

The basketball loving world collectively shuddered last evening as the first half of Game 4 between the Rockets and Warriors ended with Steph Curry clutching his right knee in agony. Curry awkwardly split as he tried to contest a last second shot from Trevor Ariza and his right knee appeared to give way. He tried to come back after the half, but was told he was done. Draymond Green later told reporters it reduced Curry to tears. Everyone thought the worst, but an MRI today revealed he only suffered a Grade 1 sprain in his right knee.

The Warriors release says he will be reevaluated in two weeks, which obviously means Curry will be missing the rest of the Houston series, and more if Golden State, up 3-1, closes out the Rockets on Wednesday. Realistically, if the Warriors advance, Curry could be back towards the tail end of the Western Conference semifinals, which would be against the winner of the Los Angeles Clippers-Portland Trailblazers series. Los Angeles leads that series 2-1 with Game 4 scheduled to tip at 10:30 p.m. tonight.
