Good morning, America. It's May 5, 2016. Welcome to the VICE Sports World News Roundup. Be sure to stop by every morning for more headlines from around the world. Today is a public holiday across much of Europe, which means there isn't a huge amount of sports news from the Continent. Nevertheless, here's what we got:

Last night in the Champions League, Real Madrid beat Manchester City thanks to a deflected Gareth Bale shot, which went down as a Fernando own goal.

The Champions League Final will feature the two Madrid teams. It's a repeat of the 2013-14 final, which Real won 4-1. Something tells me this year's final will be a little closer. Atletico is currently a point ahead of Real in La Liga and boasts the best defense in the league—actually, one of the best La Liga defenses ever. The two teams have played twice this season, with Atletico winning one. The other was a tie.

Tonight in the Europa League semi-finals, Sevilla plays Shakhtar Donetsk while Villarreal takes on Liverpool. If the two Spanish teams win, it would mean both European finals are contested entirely by one country. I'm not the repository of useless soccer trivia I used to be, but I'm pretty sure that's unprecedented.

The BBC has an interesting article on how Leicester City managed to use the fewest number of players and have the fewest injuries this season.

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, the vice-chairman of Leicester City, gave an interview in which he revealed that Jamie Vardy, the team's star striker, had a really hard time after making his £1 million move from non-league Fleetwood Town to Leicester. According to Srivaddhanaprabha, Vardy started drinking so much he'd turn up to practice drunk, and the team had to intervene.

Speaking of booze and sports, Damien Oliver, the troubled Australian jockey who recently won the Melbourne Cup, has been banned for 30 days after coming to a race drunk and failing a breathalyzer.

Both Chelsea and Tottenham have been charged by the FA following their match on Monday. It was pretty ridiculous and violent, featuring alleged ball slapping and some eye gouging, which was caught on video.
