Adam Savage from MythBusters speaks very frankly at DEFCON about professional failure. Its a good watch, yet it may be a sign the hacker convention is trying to hard to go mainstream (then again, these are probably the only people who would show up to see a guy from MythBusters)

- Bradley Manning, imprisoned former Army intelligence analyst, on his Facebook page on November 10, 2009, two or three weeks before he allegedly began contact with Wikileaks. Savage, stepping slightly out of his Discovery Channel persona, was speaking at the leading hacker conference, to an audience with which, like the queer community, Manning allied himself.

The challenge in life, says Savage – presaging the failure-is-good meme – is “recognizing that failure is occurring. It’s going to be an inherent part of the process, and sometimes its gonna catch up with you… Sometimes you’re gonna screw things up so badly, but it’s gonna be fine in the end.” (via Frontline)
