Finally, a Hip-Hop Zine Paying Tribute to the King of Pink Mink

A weekly roundup of anything fashion-related that's made us excited about having bodies that we can dress with clothes.

CAM'RON FOREVER

We'll never really get to a point where we've had enough of Killa Cam. Socks, Vine-films, more music – yes please. Visions of the Harlem rapper in that luxurious pink fur are seared into my mind as one of the boldest fashion decisions since Marques Houston wore an entirely transparent suit to the MTV movie awards.

And finally one piece of that look has been immortalised in print forever, namely his Diplomats logo chain, studded with rubies and pink diamonds. The tribute comes from Viper Magazine – a new zine that's the brainchild of Lily Mercer and aims to chronicle hip-hop in a way that's been missing for a while (cc: XXL's questionable black hippy cover for this month).

Along with a stellar piece on Chicago's burgeoning new wave of musicians and their take on the socio-political atmosphere (coupled with some cool rap merch spreads and something about the genre's state of drug-induced consciousness), Viper's ode to Cam'ron's chain reminds us of the days we wished we could roll around in shedloads of mink, swangin' a certified Dipset piece while bumping Diplomatic Immunity out of our car trunk speakers. Which reminds me – I still need to get hold of a winter coat…

FASHION EAST DOES FAIRYTALE

Fashion East has been consistently great for the last few seasons. So good, in fact, that it all feels a bit like an inspired dream you're about to wake up from, before falling back into the mundanity of the tired catwalk classics that get wheeled out at Somerset House every year. From the master of kitsch-chic Ryan Lo, through to Ashley Williams' bold and playful simplicity and Claire Barrows' totally unique hand-illustrated pieces, there's been more talent brewing in the Fashion East pool for the past couple of years than arguably anywhere else in British fashion.

And now there's even more, with all the Fashion East proteges (Bobbly Abley is the fourth, like Sarah Bailey in The Craft) desigining bags inspired by fairytales for an Ever After High dolls special that launches in the Selfridges toy section today. I'm torn between the stripey racoon (so cute!) and the shattered mirror (so terrifying!). In the Fashion East dream world, of course, I'd have all four.

LYLE AND SCOTT

Gents, listen up, because Lyle and Scott want to cater 2 U. Not in a Destiny's Child kind of way, but in a, "I don't want you to catch your death" kind of way. And if you enjoy the prospect of both not dying and new shiny things, then you'll be excited to hear that they've just opened a shiny new flagship store in Carnaby St and with Carolyn Massey at the helm of.

And even if you aren't the target audience (i.e. a boy), don't worry – autumn's the perfect season for that whole I'm-wearing-my-boyfriend's-jumper-because-he-loves-me look. Snuggly.

BOXFRESH ANNOUNCE NEW COLLABORATIVE COLLECTION

Boxfresh clearly want to help you persevere through a long, dark winter as well, because they've just released images from their next collection, which launches on March the 14th. If that alone isn't enough to inspire a bit less moping and a bit more living, the collection is called "Fruity Cocktail". I know – delicious.

Boxfresh has teamed up with old friend Josh Stika to come up with a unique, eight-piece collection that drops next spring. Funnily enough, it's not the first time these two have crossed paths; after leaving college at 17, Stika worked in the Boxfresh retail store in Covent Garden. Creepy! (Kidding, it's totally cute.)
