Tom Demac - "Guilty Measures" [AUS Music]

Adventurous Welshman Tom Demac effortlessly criss-crosses the line between house and techno with every release. Having spent the first part of the year releasing crunchy techno remixes and originals on Hypercolour, Demac is back, this time on AUS Music with a much more house-centric affair. "Guilty Measures" lopes along with a tech-house bassline and warped horns punctuating the atmosphere. It's quirky and grooving and the rest of the EP is just as intrepid and engaging.

Worthy ft. Audio Angel - "The Words" (Nick Monaco remix) [Anabatic Records]

Anabatic and Crew Love collide on this one as SF OG and Dirtybird affiliate Worthy gets the psych-lounge remix wash from Crew Love young gun Nick Monaco. In typical Monaco fashion, the track is laden with stuttery weirdness and musicality - A bouncy bassline sits underneath bleeps and bloops and layers of stardust. We're pretty sure this is what they play in the Spacex waiting room, right after they dose you.

Normaling ft. Rye Rye & TT The Artist - "Low Drop" (Ellie Herring remix) [Space is the Place Records]

Kentucky-ite newcomer Ellie Herring takes on remix duties on Normaling's "Low Drop." The original is a fast-rolling east coast club tune heavy on TT and Rye Rye's rhymes. Herring's remix slows things down to a sultry pace, ramps up the atmosphere, and turns out the lights. This is what b-more sounds like after you've re-upped on the happy syrup.

Ché - "Transformation" [Desert Hearts Records]

As Desert Hearts' Spring festival approaches, it's time to start working on your weirdness. You can't just roll up to a marathon without at least going for a jog in the weeks prior. Consider Ché's debut release on Desert Hearts a workout. This track, as are ALL tracks now on Desert Hearts, is available for free download.

Demon - "Chang Caine" (Mesck remix) [MASS]

Mesck is, without a doubt, one of the top talents in the Los Angeles underground dubstep scene. His tracks always bring those quintessential dubstep traits - Wide open atmosphere, foreboding thematics, and bassweight for days, but they're wrapped up with a deft hand that brings a totally fresh and engaging take. No wonder he's one of the few US artists to release on Distance's Chestplate. This one's a free download, so cop it!

ED:IT - "Valhalla" [Addictive Behaviour]

It wouldn't be Notes from the Underground without a little drum and bass, and lucky for us, ED:IT's inclusion is one of the tech-iest and headiest to date. Easy on the aggression, heavy on the class, the Addictive Behaviour producer balances cutting bass scythes with gently rolling percussive patterns and the result is a tune that is forebodingly heavy, but with just enough levity to blast in the daytime.
