Carmada Aren't Eskimo Brothers Yet, but This Mix is Downright Coital

OWSLA's Aussie Contingent also love One Direction, Chicken McNuggets, and swagged out bass tracks.

This time last year, the brains and hands behind recent OWSLA signees Carmada, LDRU and Yahtzel, had barely even met. Now, the pair of long-haired Aussie bass-grazers are joined at the dapperly-clad hip and being championed by Skrillex while headlining their own tours worldwide. Even in this culture of unpredictable ascents and unlikely pairings, the two lads from Sydney are sitting pretty as their track "Maybe" shoots well into seven digits on Soundcloud.

Carmada's debut guest mix for THUMP has all the low-end whomp and glitched-out melody you'd expect from current heroes of the Australian scene. It's territory well covered, but even Crocodile Dundee slamming jars of Marmite at a Men of Work show wouldn't sound as distinctively down-under as this aesthetic now does. Check it:

And if you wanted a look inside the minds of LDRU and Yahtzel, at what really makes the guys tick, here are some questions nobody else was dumb enough to ask the guys of Carmada:

THUMP: It's 5am and you're in McDonald's. What do you order?
Carmada: Large double cheeseburger meal, 6 nugs with sweet & sour and ice-cream topped with a flake, boom!

Do you have boy band stereotypes? If so, what are they?
Yep our haircuts are the same as the One Direction boys; we buy their toothpaste and bedspread.

Are you Eskimo bros?
Nah, sorry guys and still yet to do an Arctic tour.

Favourite place to play?
The Ivy in Sydney or Splendour In The Grass in Byron Bay.

Blondes or brunettes?
Hybrids.

What have you learned about each other since you started working together?
I guess working to each other's strengths and weaknesses

Yankees or Red Sox?
Who-ever is winning!

Would you trust Michael Vick with your dog? What if it was a very small dog?
Can't say we're too savvy on the old NFL but we did some research and it looks like he has a strong exterior but we think emotionally he could handle it.

Will robots ever learn to love?
We built a robot called DOMONIC.0 and have taught it to feel pain; we are currently working on the love chip.

Will they ever break our hearts? (like stupid Karren from High School)
The emotions that these robots produce will cause some serious harm to our hearts just like Karren from high school.

If you weren't making music, what would you be doing?
Mowing lawns and building houses.

Have your mums been to your shows?
Yes only Max's, my mum is yet to see the full force of our shows

What's the biggest lie you ever told?
That I had Tourette's syndrome to a fill in teacher at primary school - lasted a good month.
