Panda to Sochi: Day 7

Exploring the roadside dirt tracks of Budapest.

After spending no more than a day there, we all instantly fell in love with Budapest. But we were headed for Sochi and had to keep on track, because 1,400 miles – the distance we had left – isn't really something you can take a leisurely approach towards. Driving out of Budapest, we found a BMX spot for Stefan to ride, before slogging the next six hours through the Hungarian countryside, over the border into Romania and finally into Sibiu, Transylvania.

It's a snowy city, which, considering it's near some mountains in central Romania, isn't particularly surprising. So, to pass the time, the boys and I figured we'd count everyone we saw walking around in mini-skirts, sacrificing basic human health for something that looks very unenjoyable to wear in -1C temperatures.

We're also in need of some ideas for what to do when we pull into Bucharest and Brasov, among a bunch of other places on or route, so if you're there and want to hang out, give us a call on 0043 660 525 0162.
