Hockey Player Gets Puck Stuck In His Face

Dallas Stars defenseman Patrik Nemeth got a puck stuck in his visor. This is not clickbait.

One of the many hazards of hockey is that you will get hit in the face with a flying, frozen rubber projectile. It will hurt. The professionals might not show it since they're used to pretending things that are actually excruciatingly painful are merely the sweet kiss of a job well done, but make no mistake: getting hit in the face with a hockey puck hurts.

Like many of his other days at the office, Dallas Stars defenseman Patrik Nemeth was hit in the face last night. But instead of simply crumbling to the ice in pain, as one typically does, Nemeth laughed. He laughed because the puck was stuck between his face and the visor. It was funny, in the way that cheating death once more can lead to feelings of euphoria and demonic conquering of the inevitable.

"He looks like a pirate!" the announcer remarked.

What a dumb thing to say.
