Hold tight, this one is going to be heavy.

Get that unworn vest out from your sock drawer, untangle your dreads, make a pit with your friends and pour a full pint of beer over your head: Skrillex and Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine are collaborating. Not only that but they are also joined by Jahlil Beats, the Roc Nation producer who has worked with the likes of Jay Z, Chris Brown and Tyga. This collective, we can only assume, are working on the world's first taste of dub-trap-metal-step.

What this wild union will sound like is a mystery at this stage, save for an Instagram posted by Jahlil Beats showcasing that the trap element is already in place. All we're waiting for now are some politicised shredding from Morello, a couple of massive drops from Sonny Moore, and we're cooking on gas. It seems the collaboration could be a result of Morello's recent take that "Knife Party, Skrillex and Bassnectar are the new metal", a suggestion that actually has legs when you consider their strain of EDM is a genre successfully filling stadiums with blastbeats and moshpits. This is also not the first time Skrillex has worked with a rock or metal artist, most notably producing the heavier-than-thou "Narcisstic Cannibal" with Korn.

This news also marks the 146,060th artist Skrillex has been announced as working with in the last year (rough estimate). The roster of recent collaborators, as it stands, includes Diplo, Justin Bieber, Wacka Flocka Flame, ilovemakonnen, DJ Mustard, A$AP Rocky, Giorgio Moroder and your Dad - surely making Sonny Moore the busiest man, not just in EDM, but in popular music as a whole right now.
