Check Out These Awesome Animal Crossing GIFs From Reed + Rader

Photography duo Pamela Reed and Matthew Rader are known (among other things) for their quirky, highly-stylized, and intricate fashion GIFs. You may have seen their babes shooting hoops GIFs we posted a while back.

While they are pioneers in making fashion move and pushing the boundaries of what fashion editorial can be, the couple are also big fans of video games—in particular, Animal Crossing, “aka one of the best games ever,” according to the couple.

If you’re unfamiliar, Animal Crossing is a life-simulating, real-time adventure game where the player is immersed in a village of humanlike animals. Gameplay is characteristically open-ended and one has the freedom to act on a whim—gardening, socializing with the other adorable animals, customizing outfits, furnishing your home, and collecting items to trade for Bells (the village’s currency).

Given the flexible nature of the game, Reed + Rader conceived their own Animal Crossing storyline with real sets, big papier-mâché heads, and costumes.
