VICE Asks: What Are The Ethics of Getting High?

Other than torrenting "Game of Thrones" taking drugs is one of the most common illegal things we do. But it's also incredibly divisive, and in our eagerness to either celebrate or vilify drug use, we often sweep the ethics aside.

Drug use isn't a fringe activity. Other than torrenting Game of Thrones it's probably the most common illegal thing we do. But it's also incredibly divisive, and in our eagerness to either celebrate or vilify drug use, we often sweep the ethics aside. So VICE decided to team up with the Ethics Centre to tackle some of these tough questions.

Do you think about where your drugs come from? How much responsibility should you take for your friend's wellbeing if you're buying drugs for them? University of Sydney ethicist Dr Sascha Callaghan, publican and former DJ Jaime Wirth, and artist, activist, and former heroin addict Jack Mannix came together at the Ethics Centre to tackle these questions and many more for "VICE Asks: What Are the Ethics of Getting High?"
