Paul Hogan Has Weighed in on #MeToo

“I have several attractive granddaughters...”

Paul Hogan, guys. Of Crocodile Dundee and “shrimp on the barbie” and “owes tens of millions of dollars to the Australian Taxation Office” fame. Someone (The Herald Sun) has finally asked him to weigh in on the post-Weinstein #MeToo movement, and he has… he has responded in about the way you’d expect.

“I have four attractive granddaughters, one of them is on Channel Seven, and if I find out someone out there is hassling her, I'd go out and kick their arse… they shouldn't have to put up with that,” he told the paper. Hope the big boys at Channel Seven are prepared for a knife fight.

Hogan also commented on Harvey Weinstein specifically, saying he’d been aware of the goings on at Miramax for some time.

“There's so many people being exposed that you never expected, and I was staggered at the creepiness of people in Hollywood…[But] I knew Harvey Weinstein was a grub… no one was shocked about Harvey.”

Why do people keep bragging about knowing Harvey Weinstein was bad, and not doing anything to stop him? One of 2017’s biggest questions. In fairness, Hogan’s comments are still slightly more helpful than anything Matt Damon has said lately.

Hollywood sexual misconduct isn’t Paul Hogan’s only gripe right now. Earlier this month, he launched a lawsuit against your less-favourite burger chain Grill’d, who use his Crocodile Dundee catchphrase “That’s not a knife, this is a knife” on their cutlery.

We’ll be watching that legal battle closely. In the meantime, may attractive granddaughters around the country breathe a sigh of relief that Hoges is watching over them.
